Patients Emailing Photos to GP Practices

Please note that patient photos should only be sent if requested by a clinician; and we will always ask for patients consent.

Please also be aware that there are risks when sending personal details out- with the practices secure network; therefore it may be unsafe as this travels over the public internet and we cannot guarantee the email will be delivered to/received by the practice. 

Photographs will be part of your patient record

If there are any inappropriate correspondence sent to the Practice, action will be taken.

Feeling anxious, depressed or just a bit down?


The new ELHSCP Mental Health line is open from 09.00 to 16.00 Monday to Friday. You don’t need a referral from a GP or other clinical professional to use it. It’s for anyone aged 18 and over. If you are feeling anxious, depressed or have other worries about your mental health, call us on 01620 642 963 between 09.00 and 16.00 Monday to Friday.

An experienced worker will take your details and make an appointment for you to speak to a specialist mental health practitioner, who will ring you
back at a at time that is convenient for your within the next 36 hours. The practitioner will assess you over the phone, and provide help and
support and sometimes a referral on to other services

.
This service is not designed for:
 people already being seen regularly by a Community Mental Health Nurse in the Community Mental Health Team
 People who are experiencing a mental health emergency—in this case, please phone your GP or xxx immediately.

Monday 13th April: open as usual 0800-1800

In line with NHS Lothian Covid-19 arrangements, we will be open on the Easter Weekend Public Holidays. Aitkens’ and Lloyds’ Pharmacy times are also displayed below for your information.

Cromwell Harbour Medical Practice will continue to assess patients by phone where possible, and we thank you for your co-operation with our Covid-19 arrangements during this time.

NHS24 (phone number: 111) will remain available when the practices are closed, or for concerns about Covid-related symptoms.

Video Consultations

We are developing ways of providing video consultations with our patients, and hope that this will be available in the coming weeks. We will be using a service provided by NHS Scotland called ‘NearMe’.

In the meantime, you might want to watch this video and read the guide available at the link below – which includes a useful check on whether your computer and internet speed will be compatible with this service.

When we are ready to offer video consultations, we will update this page with further details.

Online pregnancy and parent craft resources to help you prepare for parenthood

This link will take you to the NHS Choices pregnancy and baby guide.  Within it you will find links to useful information & video clips about labour and birth including signs of labour, analgesia options, what your birth partner can do to help and getting to know your newborn.  Within the newborn section you will also find links to information about breastfeeding, bottle feeding and the early days.

 

This link will take you to BASIS.  The baby sleep information website.  It contains information on safe sleeping.  They also have a free app called “Infant sleep” which can be useful in the first few weeks.

This link will take you to the UNICEF breastfeeding support page.  It has several videos showing effective positioning and attachment for breastfeeding and relationship building.
